FAQs

HOW DO I BOOK?

  • To secure your booking a deposit of at least 25% of the total cost is required at the time of the booking. The balance must be paid at least 14 days before check-in. We do not accept provisional bookings so please do not make a booking unless you are in a position to honour it. We accept most major debit/credit cards.

WHAT ARE THE RATES FOR KIDS?

  • Under 14s are free.

  • Over 14s are considered to take up a full space when assessing occupancy.

WHAT  IS THE POLICY ON CANCELLATIONS?

  • We are able to refund cancelled bookings more than 28days prior to arrival. In the event of late cancellations or no-shows, we do not offer any (either full or partial) refund.

  • In the unlikely event of cancellation of your booking by us – if we are unable to provide the booked holiday and have to cancel before the holiday is due to start – you are entitled to a full refund of the money you have paid. You may also choose alternative dates.

WHEN CAN WE CHECK-IN?

  • Check-in is from 3pm. We ask that guests do not arrive early so we have time to prepare your accommodation.

 

WHEN IS THE LATEST CHECK-OUT?

  • Check out is up to 10am. Leave your keys on the table in the pod. There is no need to lock it. Late checkout may incur additional charges if not arranged in advance.

 

WHAT ARE THE RULES ON THE USE OF THE HOT TUBS?

  • Please ensure you read and follow all guidelines regarding hot tub use. Should the water quality be significantly affected by fake tan, dye or other chemicals will incur an additional charge. Any damage to hot tubs caused by misuse will be charged for.

 

VEHICLES AND PARKING

  • Each pod will allow parking for one or two cars.  Please park in the designated area where possible. DO NOT park in such a way that you are obstructing access to other pods.

  • An Sealladh chalet has it's own dedicated driveway.

  • Please note that we don't currently have any dedicated EV charging facilities. We reserve the right to charge an additional amount for charging EVs.

 

WHAT IS PROVIDED?

  • All essential appliances and utensils are provided along with fresh towels and bedding, an en-suite, a kitchen with oven and hob, Wi-Fi and smart TV. Each pod contains a double bed and a convertible double sofa bed.

  • The chalet is fully equipped with full size oven and hob as well as it's own washing machine & tumble dryer, fridge and freezer.

  • All we ask is that you bring towels for use in the hot tub.

 

ARE PETS ALLOWED?

  • When booking, you MUST inform us at the time of booking if you wish to bring a pet. There is a charge of £20 per pet per stay.

  • There is a maximum of one pet in the pods and a maximum of two pets in the Chalet.

  • Please ensure that your pet brings their own bed! Pets are not permitted on furniture or beds. Guests will be liable for any damage caused or extra cleaning that may be required and you will be charged for this accordingly. Dogs must be kept on a lead at all times and all dog waste must be collected. There are waste bins located on site. Pets must never be left unattended in the accommodation.

 

MINIMUM STAYS

  • During our high season, June – September, we operate a 2-night minimum weekday and 2-night minimum weekend  (Friday and Saturday nights) stay policy due to housekeeping requirements.

  • During the Christmas and New Year period we offer a strict 2 night minimum stays to allow our staff ample time for turnover of the accommodation.

 

COTS

  • We can provide travelling cots for very young children if required. Please ask.

 

 LOCAL AMENITIES

  • There are small convenience stores in nearby villages as well as pubs & restaurants.

 

TRANSPORT AND ACCESSIBILITY

  • Due to being 3 miles from the nearest bus stop we would recommend guests have the use of a vehicle.

Booking Terms and Conditions

  • The guest responsible for booking the accommodation must be over 18 years of age.

  • PLEASE NOTE: An additional £50 refundable deposit will be reserved upon arrival. This is to cover excessive damage, breakages or additional cleaning costs, this will be released within 7 days of your departure subject to a satisfactory inspection of the property.

  • Guests self check-in at Black Isle Pods and Chalet. The door will be unlocked and the key will be on the table.

  • Check-in is from 3pm. We ask that guests not to arrive early so we have time to prepare.

  • Check out is up to 10am. Leave your keys on the table. There is no need to lock the door. Late checkout may incur additional charges.

  • Black Isle Pods and Chalet reserves the right to enter and inspect the pods at any time. If a pod is left in an unsatisfactory condition or deliberately damaged in any way, we reserve the right to charge costs to the payment method on booking.

  • Pods must be left as clean and tidy as when you found them, we expect guest to observe a basic level of cleanliness during their stay. The kitchen area including dishes should be left as found on your arrival. If the pod is left in an unfavourable state you may be subject to an additional cleaning charge.

  • There may be sheep and cows in the fields surrounding the pods at certain times of year. Please respect the animals with regards to dog handling and do not try and approach or feed the animals. We observe a strict pets policy, please read in the FAQ section of the website.

 

SITE TERMS AND CONDITIONS

THE SITE – Black Isle Pods and Chalet is situated in a rural Highland location so there are areas of uneven ground, natural hazards, unmade paths and limited lighting. Please therefore take special care to avoid accidents. We strongly recommend that if you plan to venture out round the site in the hours of darkness you should bring a torch to assist you to try and prevent any accidents.

 

BEHAVIOUR – You are responsible for the behaviour of all members of your party. Please show consideration to other guests, our staff and our location. We operate a “Quiet Time” which requires outdoor music to cease at 22.00 hours and for hot tubs to be vacated by 23.00. Noisy or disruptive behaviour, wilful damage to the location or accommodation or other behaviour considered buy our staff to be inappropriate may result in us asking you or a member of your party to leave the location immediately. No refunds or compensation will be given in these circumstances and we reserve the right to claim compensation for damages or inconvenience caused. 

CHILDREN – Children remain the responsibility of their parents or guardians at all times in the accommodation, on the park grounds.  Please ensure your children are supervised at all times and make sure you always know where your children are.  Please take special care to ensure that your children are supervised by a parent or guardian when using the hot-tub or at the fire bowl area.  Safety of your children is paramount so please be vigilant and adhere by site policies.

SMOKING  – Smoking is strictly prohibited inside all properties.  Removal of smoke odours in buildings is extremely difficult and we reserve the right to evict any guest who we suspect is smoking or drug taking in any of our properties. Charges will be made to the guest to cover costs of any cleaning, deodorising and any loss of future rental revenue, which may occur as a result of smoking within a property.

COMPLAINTS – It is important to us that you enjoy your holiday and every effort has been made to ensure this. However, in the event of any concerns with your property, we will want to take action as soon as possible. It is essential that you contact us if any problem arises so that it can be resolved as soon as possible. It is extremely difficult (and sometimes impossible) to sort out difficulties unless told promptly.  Under no circumstances will any refund be considered if we have not been given the opportunity to rectify any problems during your stay. Regrettably we are unable to accept any complaints that are raised after departure.

 

WEATHER – At times we will experience adverse weather conditions. We cannot be held responsible for travel disruptions resulting in non-arrival because of bad weather.

 

VEHICLES – Each pod will allow parking for one or two cars.  Please DO NOT park on the grass or in such a way that you are obstructing access to other pods.

Please note that vehicles are parked at their owner’s risk and Blackisle Pods and Chalet accept no responsibility for any damage caused whilst on site.

Please note that we don't currently have any dedicated EV charging facilities. We reserve the right to charge an additional amount for charging EVs.

 

DAMAGE TO PROPERTY – Your property will be inspected after departure. You are responsible for the actual costs of any breakage or damage found in the accommodation along with any additional costs that may result. We reserve the right to refuse admission to any guest for any just reason. We reserve the right to evict offensive persons or pets. No refunds will be made. We reserve the right to make charges against credit cards or to invoice for damages.

 

DEPARTURE AND CLEANING OF PROPERTY – On Departure you agree to leave your accommodation clean, tidy and undamaged. The following basic level of cleanliness is required on departure. Cookers and ovens should be clean and fat –free. Crockery, cutlery, pans and glasses should be washed / dried and put away. Obvious spills and stains removed. Any equipment / furniture moved during the let should be returned to its original position. Bins emptied. Failure to meet this standard may result in a cleaning charge.

What type of information do we collect?

 

We receive, collect and store any information you enter on our website or provide us in any other way. In addition, we collect the Internet protocol (IP) address used to connect your computer to the Internet; login; e-mail address; password; computer and connection information and purchase history. We may use software tools to measure and collect session information, including page response times, length of visits to certain pages, page interaction information, and methods used to browse away from the page. We also collect personally identifiable information (including name, email, password, communications); payment details (including credit card information), comments, feedback, product reviews, recommendations, and personal profile.

 

How do we collect information?

 

When you conduct a transaction on our website, as part of the process, we collect personal information you give us such as your name, address, phone number and email address. Your personal information will be used for the specific reasons stated above only.

Our bookings are generally done through Glampmanager and personal details are stored on their system.

 

Why do we collect such personal information?

 

We collect such Non-personal and Personal Information for the following purposes:

  1. To provide and operate the Services;

  2. To provide our Users with ongoing customer assistance and technical support;

  3. To be able to contact our Visitors and Users with general or personalised service-related notices and promotional messages;

  4. To create aggregated statistical data and other aggregated and/or inferred Non-personal Information, which we or our business partners may use to provide and improve our respective services; 

  5. To comply with any applicable laws and regulations.

 

 

How do we store, use, share and disclose our site visitors' personal information?

 

Our company is hosted on the Wix.com platform. Wix.com provides us with the online platform that allows us to sell our products and services to you. Your data may be stored through Wix.com’s data storage, databases and the general Wix.com applications. They store your data on secure servers behind a firewall.  

Bookings are directed through Glampmanager and all personal data including name, address and card details are stored in their system.

 

All direct payment gateways offered by Wix.com and used by our company adhere to the standards set by PCI-DSS as managed by the PCI Security Standards Council, which is a joint effort of brands like Visa, MasterCard, American Express and Discover. PCI-DSS requirements help ensure the secure handling of credit card information by our store and its service providers.

 

 

How do we communicate with our site visitors?

 

We may contact you to notify you regarding your account, to troubleshoot problems with your account, to resolve a dispute, to collect fees or monies owed, to poll your opinions through surveys or questionnaires, to send updates about our company, or as otherwise necessary to contact you to enforce our User Agreement, applicable national laws, and any agreement we may have with you. For these purposes we may contact you via email, telephone, text messages, and postal mail.
